Roles required to do customization/personalizations are:

2. HCM Application Administrator

Personalization: feature is specific to a user. A user can personalise pages as they wish such as changing language, timezone etc…

Customizations: Feature is available to customize pages according to customer specific requirements such as changing headers, footers, message displays etc…

1. Fusion Applications are best viewed in Mozilla Firefox.
2. If you want to use Internet Explorer (IE), keep the following setbacks it has:
2.1 user cannot customize/extend Fusion Application pages. page composer will not work as expected in IE compatibility mode.
2.2 page rendering is an issue in IE.
3.While editing display properties of any page component, use expression builder to modify text.
4. It is advisable to “download customizations for all layers” before making changes to any page using page composer, this way when things went wrong we can reset them as is.
5. Customizations can be applied at 3 levels: Site, Hcm Country, HCM Organization

HCM Extracts: is used to extract data from Fusion HCM in the required format. the data to be extracted, and the delivery options can be defined at one place and saved.

The delivery options can be email or  FTP or HTTP etc…

NOTE: Using BI Administrator role configure the report delivery options you would be using in BI publisher.

use only those delivery options configured in BI publisher in HCM extract definitions. otherwise process will error out when user submit HCM extract.

Data Loaders: Oracle has provided various data loaders to load data in to Fusion. of which the following are useful for HCM implementation projects:

1. FBL  (File Based Loader)  – provided to load high volumes of data such as historical data/transactional data etc…
2. HCM Spreadsheet Loader  – provided to load lesser volumes of data such as creating a Legal Entity, Location etc…

NOTE: FBLDi (FBL Desktop Integrator) is a tool developed by Oracle COE which automated the tasks involved in data loading such as exporting a .dat file to UCM and invoking data loader service.
It is not a Oracle product for which you get support, and it is just for learning purposes. do not think of integrating FBLDi in between your source and Fusion systems.

Role required to use data loader:

1. Application Implementation Consultant
2. HCM Application Administrator
